Campus UNESCO "Women - Actors of Change"

CAMPUS UNESCO “Women - actors of change” on the occasion of the International Women’s Day which will take place March 8th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at UNESCO Headquarters, 125 Avenue de Suffren, 75007 Paris, Room II.
Three experts will interact with 350 young people on the role of women in political and social change, with a special focus on both digital and development fields.

 

Friederike Röder - Manager of the non-governmental organization ONE in France. ONE is a global advocacy and campaigning organization, co-founded by Bono, the U2 singer, to fight extreme poverty and preventable diseases, particularly in Africa. ONE is supported by more than 9 million people around the world and has 460,000 members in France.

 

Lindsey Nefesh-Clarke is the Founder and CEO of Women's WorldWide Web (W4), an international humanitarian organization and the first crowdfunding platform in Europe dedicated to the empowerment of girls and women around the world. One of W4's main goals is to promote equal access and participation of girls and women in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

 

Damiano Giampaoli – UNESCO expert in the Division for Gender Equality, he is particularly interested in the human rights protection of minorities and advocates for a strong commitment of both men and boys to gender equality.

 

Debate moderated by Victoria Dellinger, Public Relations and Partnerships Officer, manager of UNESCO CAMPUSES.

ABOUT CAMPUS UNESCO: To put the expertise of UNESCO teams and partners at the service of the youth for a better understanding of major contemporary issues. It is an opportunity for young people to exchange ideas on various topics alongside three experts of the issues at hand. The experts are from UNESCO and civil society. Since 2014, 52 CAMPUSES raised awareness to over 16,000 young people on major issues such as sports and citizenship, peace, sustainable development, human rights, girls’ education, genocides, freedom of expression, and cultural heritage.
