Venue:
Jyväskylä, Finland

Finland is committed to implementing the Global Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly (2015). One of the goals (SDG4) is quality education for all. This year’s seminar focuses on promoting education for sustainable development (Target 4.7):

By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development

  • How JYU and its partners practice education for sustainable futures?
  • What is the role of educators in promoting education for climate change and building sustainable lifestyles?
  • How SDG4 is supported through education for sustainable development?
  • Come and tell, listen and participate!

SDG4-JYU2019, an international participatory seminar at the Faculty of Education and Psychology presents our teaching, research, collaboration and partners. We engage with the different dimensions of sustainable development through research-based and practical activities. The seminar is open for all JYU students and staff, and everyone interested in education for sustainable development. Our partners, including schools and NGOs will present their work on education for sustainable development.
